BBC News for iPhone / iPad – UK Launch Expected Soon

If you live in the UK and like to keep up-to-date on all of the latest news we have some good news for you, the BBC will soon be launching two new applications for iPhone / iPod Touch.

The apps will be free to download and were initially supposed to launch back in April, however as usual paperwork etc held the BBC up, in the end however the BBC Trust ruled that the apps do not “represent a significant change to the BBC’s existing public services”.

One of the apps is a BBC News app, the content will no doubt be the same as the BBC News website, however the app should provide an optimized front-end with built-in features, the other app is a BBC Sport app, again expect an optimized front-end and built-in features.

It is thought that the apps will show up at the App Store anytime now, therefore perhaps check in a few hours.
