Battlefield Play4Free For PC: Register For Closed Beta

EA Games has announced a new spin-off for their Battlefield franchise called ‘Battlefield Play4Free’. The game will be for PC and will not be released until spring 2011. The new game will feature a number of the popular maps from the paid game — yes that’s right, this one is free.

Battlefield Heroes was also a free version, but that had characters that looked too cartoonish for gamers to truly commit to the game. However, Battlefield Play4Free will be more like a normal game and offer a “realistic experience” as Tom’s Hardware put it.

The online battles will allow for 32-players at a time, so not sure if you will get time to appreciate the improved graphics? ‘Battlefield Play4Free’ will be like a social media game in a way, where you earn money in the game to spend on weapons.

Although the game will not launch until spring 2011, you can register for the closed beta, which goes live on November 30. For more details visit the official website.
