Battlefield 4 confirmed by EA? Release predictions and BF3 improvements

We didn’t expect a confirmation of this to come so soon after the launch of Battlefield 3, but inevitably, it looks like EA are already planning for the future. The company has just confirmed for the first time in black and white that a Battlefield 4 game will be coming.

We have just had the confirmation of a new Call of Duty game coming in 2012, and although it is very unlikely that Battlefield 4 will coming out next year, fans will be delighted that EA are already looking to build on the initial success of BF3 and improve the game even further.

EA’s president Frank Gibeau had been delivering a keynote at the University of Southern California when he dropped the bombshell, as according to a Twitter user who we’re guessing was apparently there, Gibeau included these words in his speed: “There is going to be a Battlefield 4.”

Obviously there is no surprise that it is happening, but to hear EA say it anyway will be very refreshing for those who are loving Battlefield 3 at the moment. And what about Battlefield: Bad Company 3 – will that make it out before BF4, or are EA going to focus on delivering a true sequel to their third game?

Now that we know it is coming, what improvements would you like to see in the game, compared to BF3? A lot of people would like EA DICE to put more effort into the single-player campaign as some felt that it fell flat this time around in Battlefield 3. We would like to see more vehicles too – they added jets this time, so what about a few more tanks and some more country-specific variations on the armored jeep perhaps?

It’s too early to speculate on a possible release date for Battlefield 4, but we would like to see a new game come out within two years. What would your predictions be on a release time frame for BF4?
