Battlefield 3 trailer teases exciting environment destruction gameplay

Battlefield 3 is looking to be one of the best games of the year, the following we have from our readers certainly suggests it’s going to be one of the best-selling. In the buildup to the game’s release, which is October 25th, we have been keeping our readers up to date with the developments including discovering the secrets to flying tanks. Today DICE released a new trailer teasing some of the realistic destruction gameplay we can expect to see in the game.

Being one of the most anticipated games of the year, the game has found itself being compared to the equally popular FPS Call of Duty as its latest installment, Modern Warfare 3, is also due out very soon, November 8th to be exact. Now the new trailer allows fans to get a glimpse of what the developers’ key feature, the Frostbite 2 engine can do, in the ‘pillars of Battlefield 3’ video that can be viewed below.

It teases several scenarios in which buildings, vehicles and other parts of the environment are being blown to pieces, crashing and crumbling down around the player during battles. Actually being able to physically cause permanent destruction to a game’s environment is very exciting and realistic for fans of these types of games, not to mention fun.

Patrick Liu, Producer of Battlefield 3 believes his game has more to offer fans than Call of Duty does, although he was humble enough to admit that he was pleased the EA game was even in the same league as the franchise. He stated that the Call of Duty games were ‘behemoths, and just the notion we would be able to take a chunk from their gamers is awesome.’

Check out the video below. What do you think of the destruction the game is capable of so far?
