Battlefield 3 pre-order DLC, Amazon UK throws in exclusive Specact Kit

When pre-ordering games these days consumers shop around to see what bonuses they will get from retailers, we have recently found out that will throw in additional DLC with Battlefield 3 Limited Edition which is said to be exclusive content.

Currently pretty much all retailers throw in the Back to Karkand expansion pack for free, this features four legendary maps which have been overhauled in terms of visuals by developers using the Frostbite 2 engine, not only this but the Karkand DLC gives gamers unique rewards, vehicles and weapons. This all sounds great, but if you head over to today and pre-order BF3 you get the Karkand DLC and more downloadable content which is called the Specact Kit, this is available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game.

The Specact kit is said to consist of items which allow you to uniquely customize your class before you going into battle online. We do not have a full breakdown of what you get, however we can confirm there will be unique camouflage for each class. We do not know if this offer is exlcusive to or Amazon, however we checked out the U.S. listing and there was no sign of the Specact kit.

If you played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 the Specact kit may ring some bells, this is because similar DLC was released for this game, on Xbox Live you could buy the SPECACT Assault Upgrade, SPECACT Engineer Upgrade, SPECACT Medic Upgrade and SPECACT Recon Upgrade for 160 Microsoft points each, however you could also buy all four kits as a bundle for 480 MP, perhaps this means that the Battlefield 3 Specact kit is worth 480 MP which equates to roughly $6.00 / £4.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s SPECACT Upgrade Bundle DLC consisted of four camouflaged weapons for different classes and 4 kit specific unique uniforms, not only this but it added 12 new awards and 4 achievements, perhaps this gives us some insight as to what to expect from BF3’s Specact kit. You can find out more about previous Specact downloadable content packs here, will you pre-order your copy from just to get the exclusive DLC?
