We have some pretty exciting news now for all you sci-fi fans out there who are waiting to see the upcoming Battle: Los Angeles film, as Konami has just announced on their Twitter page that a Battle: Los Angeles movie-based video game is also due to be released this month.
According to Tom Coyne over on the techwatch.co.uk website, the new Battle: Los Angeles game will be released later this month (to coincide with the release of the movie), and will be available to download from the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam.
Players will be assuming the role of Marine Corporal Lee Imlay — played by Will Rothhaar in the upcoming movie — in the Battle: Los Angeles game. They will also be fighting alongside other characters from the movie, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on March 11th.
The first person shooter game is being developed by Saber Interactive, and will follow a single player campaign based on the events of the movie. Konami stated that players will be battling unique and varied enemies, using a whole host of weapons including a rocket launcher and a turret gun.
Gamers also have destructible environments to look forward to, thanks to the game’s usage of the Havok Destruction Module. You can view a brief trailer for the upcoming game below this post. What do you think about a Battle: Los Angeles game being released?
