We have some good news for fans of Batman now, as a surprise version of upcoming console game Batman Arkham Origins has already been confirmed to be heading to mobile. Origins is going to be available on iOS and Android this November, and even comes with some linking features to connect the game up to the console version.
Mobile games are becoming more prominent by the day and Warner Bros obviously sees the benefits of this. The publisher has just announced that Batman Arkham Origins is going mobile, with a free-to-play version of the game that is developed by none other than Mortal Kombat creators, NetherRealm Studios.
We can confirm that the game is going to be available on iOS devices, around the same period as when the console version of the game launches, which is October 25. That means devices such as iPad, iPhone and iPod touch will be supported, although Android users will have to wait a little bit longer we’ve heard.
Just like the GTA V iFruit Android app, Warner Bros has said that the Android version of Batman Arkham Origins is coming later, only committing to a release during the 2013 ‘Holiday Period’.
Warner Bros has revealed that players with a Warner Bros. ID (WBID) account can link up the two versions of the game and gain access to exclusive content not available elsewhere, such as rewards and unlocks. Considering the game is being handled by NetherRealm Studios, it should be an indiction that the game won’t just be a cash-in mobile port that we see time and time again, but really an expansion of the console version that is well worth your time.
It’s a bit disappointing though, that Android users are once again being left behind slightly compared to iOS users. Give us your thoughts on this issue below and whether you are interested in trying out the Android version.
