Batman Arkham City: Exclusive DLC worries after secret Xbox 360 hardware bundle

We have some interesting news for those of you planning to pick up the highly anticipated sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum. Arkham City is right around the corner, and for Xbox 360 owners at least, it looks like you’ll be getting an hardware bundle to coincide with the release.

At the moment, it looks like this deal is for Xbox 360 owners only as there are no mentions of a hardware bundle for the PS3 as of yet, as reported from Destructoid. The German branch of Amazon are the ones responsible for the leak and come October 21st, Xbox 360 owners will be given the option of buying a 250GB Arkham City hardware bundle for the price of €279.99. Click here for the Amazon listing.

That price will get you the console obviously, a copy of the game, a controller and one headset too. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any exclusive DLC attached to this hardware bundle, but we expect bonus content to be available from various retailers in the UK and US, such as GameStop and GAME for example.

Considering that there is no mention of a PS3 bundle yet, we hope that this isn’t an indication that Microsoft has secured some sort of exclusive rights for the game upon release, as obviously that will affect DLC content too, with a possible scenario of the Xbox 360 getting timed exclusive DLC ahead of the PC and PS3 platforms.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but brace yourselves for that possible outcome if it does happen. As for the game itself, Arkham City is shaping up nicely to be the best Batman game ever, no easy feat when you consider what an excellent game Arkham Asylum was. We recently provided you with a roundup of all the characters and villains revealed for the game so far, so read that again here if you missed it last time.

How would you feel if the Xbox 360 had exclusive DLC for the game?
