During an interview hosted by IGN UK with Mark Hamill, who plays the voice of the Joker in the Batman: Arkham Asylum games, Hamil revealed that he had to be persuaded to revisit the set of the sequel for one last time, but stressed that this will be “the last hurrah.”
Hamil who is also reportedly involved with Star Wars, told IGN UK that he was reluctant to return to the Joker seat after developer Rocksteady asked him to come back again by saying “Guys, we’re never going to be able to top the original.” He also added that his intention was to leave on ”a high note” due to the success of the original Arkham Asylum game.
But it is thought that Rocksteady managed to talk him out of it, and come down and do the voice acting for one last time. It must have taken something pretty special to convince him to return as the guy sounded pretty adamant that he was not going to return.
Sworn to secrecy, unfortunately he did not reveal any information about the upcoming title, but was definitive that this would be the last time he would come back to reprise his role as the Joker.
Whatever Rocksteady has got in store, I’m sure it will blow us away more than the original Arkham Asylum. What are your hopes for the sequel?
