Awaiting Android TV vs. Apple and Amazon Fire face-off

Google is not one for giving up because if at first they do not succeed, they try again, and more than once we might add. It took them a while to have a success with social networking, and finally Google+ has provided them with a service to be proud of. They have also had a rocky start with the set-top box, but the unveiling of the Android TV shows they are not ready to give up yet.

This is the third attempt by Google, and because Apple and now Amazon are enjoying success with the set-top box, Google believes they still have what it takes to share a piece of that pie.

It’s not going to be easy for the search engine giant because they know they have to deliver if they have any hope of a positive Android TV vs. Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV face-off. Apple begun this venture more as a hobby and is now one of, if not the best selling set-top boxes of its kind. However, Amazon has given them a run for their money because of the implementation of gaming, something we desperately need to see with from the Cupertino company.

How will Android TV compare? Google’s latest device is very similar to those rival set-top boxes, and looks very similar to Fire TV, and even though we know Chromecast also offers similar features, it is far too basic to be able to compete with the competition.

Android TV is a huge update to the long-standing Google TV platform and will be able to talk to your mobile device via an Android app. There is also a gamepad controller seeing as though this device will be able to support gaming. You can get a much closer look and to see if you think it has what it takes to compete with its rivals by watching the video below.

We hope we are not kept waiting too long before we get to see this set-top box pitted against its nearest competition.
