Avengers Alliance Account transfer with Facebook

It has been a short while since we broke the news of Avengers Alliance on Playdom shutting down. The game will be no more as of April 2014, with Playdom instead redirecting all gamers to the Facebook version.

Playdom has in the past said that Avengers Alliance account transfers would not be possible, but the developer’s own support page contains some interesting information which suggests that this may not be entirely true.

As you can imagine, there are a lot of angry players out there who have spent countless hours on the Playdom version, not to mention a lot of money buying gold for premium weapons and gadgets.

Playdom has already said that they won’t be able to refund these items as they are not legally required to. The petition that we told you about last week has now amassed over 1,000 signatures and it is clear that many consumers are looking for a solution to this.

If you head to the support page of Playdom though as highlighted in the image above, you’ll see that Playdom has specifically included a heading for “Merge Playdom/Facebook accounts”, when choosing a category for submitting tickets.

Now read a statement from Playdom back in 2012, when asked if accounts could be transferred:

“No. You cannot transfer the game from one platform to another. Due to the game running on different servers and having its own data system, it is not possible to transfer the game progress, items, Silver, or purchased Gold and limited edition items from Facebook to Playdom website or vice versa”.

There are two talking points to discuss here: Either Playdom does have a way to transfer accounts, or the other explanation is that the support category has just been setup with the Merge Playdom/Facebook accounts title to make it easier to deal with frequent requests asking for this option – even though it apparently isn’t possible.

Players are looking for an account transfer lifeline so they don’t lose hours and hours of time spent on levelling up their heroes to 13. On April 20 though, this will all count for nothing if there is no compensation planned.

What are your feelings on the game one week after hearing the news that Avengers Alliance will close on Playdom this month?

They SHOULD but they won’t because playdom doesn’t care. They make items they can lure people into spending money on, and then try to draw them to other platforms to start over. Facebook to Playdom…Playdom to Ipad… Now back to Facebook again. They’re lazy. Hell, if you ever check the free gold offers, their partner trialpay lets companies install malware on people’s computers.
