Continuing on from our article yesterday, which pinpoints AT&T customers who are using their iPhone 4 for uploading data, it seems as though AT&T have recognized the issue and hope to roll out a software update to fix it.
Ever since the iPhone 4 has been released, it has come under heavy criticism from iPhone users who say that there are numerous problems with it. Signal issues which is we found out is due to the “death grip,” and also battery and iOS 4 problems amongst many are still being attempted to be ironed out by Apple.
So it was just a matter of time before another came along. When reports started appearing of capped upload speeds during the weekend gone, fans were left infuriated that the apparent High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) was not living up to standards of speeds up to around 5.7Mbps.
Fingers were either pointed at the iPhone 4 itself, or AT&T where users said the servers became overloaded with so many users trying to upload photo and video media.
AT&T finally came round and delivered an email to Macworld that stated there was infact a “software defect” which was triggered by certain conditions. Only 2% of users are thought to be affected, but they said they are already working on a fix that will make the problem disapeer.
No ETA has been given regarding this update as of yet, so we will keep you posted on when this will become available.
