Asus VivoTab Note 8 finally released

The Asus VivoTab Note 8 has finally been released after leaking in December and then being announced at CES 2014 in January. The 8 inch Windows tablet was tipped as a budget device, but has been listed for a little more than previously expected on the Microsoft Store.

At CES the advertised price for the VivoTab Note 8 was $299; however it is being sold now for $329. Reports at the time suggested that the Note 8 would come in different storage varieties but as far as we can see only a 32 GB model is up for sale at the moment. There had been a 64 GB model announced for $349 so whether Microsoft has jumped the gun here is anyone’s guess.

The Asus VivoTab Note 8 runs Windows 8.1 and provides Wacom pen support on a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display. Other specs include an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 MP front. The VivoTab had been planned for imminent release after CES but for unknown reasons the launch had been held back for more than a month.

Just to make matters that little bit more frustrating in the release regard, the VivtoTab is currently only available in the US, we still have no word on release for the UK.

The Windows slate popped up on the American store earlier on, there is a small chance the link could be taken down should this listing prove premature.

Let us know in the comments section what you think of the Asus VivoTab Note 8 and if you plan to buy one now.
