ASUS has recently unveiled its new UX series ultraportables, the model which we will be telling about today is the UX21, according to a brief article posted on Engadget this will arrive sometime in September.
Currently we do not have a complete breakdown of technical specifications, however we do know that a range of 2nd-generation Intel Core mobile processors will be available, including Core i7 offerings. The ASUS press release also hints at there will be SATA 6Gb/s solid-state drives on offer, however we have no idea how much extra ASUS will charge for this luxury.
Other things which may interest you include the fact that there will be up to 7 hours of battery life from one charge and Instant On functionality, this allows you to resume using your notebook in seconds.
In terms of design the UX21 certainly has some appealing features, it is thin and light and has a “svelte aluminum alloy shell”, we are also led to believe that it is just 17mm at its thickest point. We have embedded press photos at the end of this post, check them out and let us know whether you are impressed in the comments section.
We will keep you up-to-date with all of the details regarding the ASUS UX21 when we hear more, perhaps this could be the Windows alternative to the 2011 Macbook Air, what do you think?
