ASUS Transformer Prime Accessories: ‘Origami’ Smart Cover video

If you are planning to pick up the very impressive Transformer Prime from ASUS, there’s a good chance that you’ll want to purchase a case of some sort to protect that lovely 10-inch screen. We have a very interesting video to show you now, which confirms that ASUS will be offering their own ‘unique’ take on Apple’s Smart Cover which is available for the iPad 2.

The unique take we’re talking about is an official cover for the Transformer Prime which can only be described as an ‘Origami’ cover, as you’ll soon see in the video provided below. ASUS has uploaded the video to the Taiwan Facebook page, so we’re guessing that this case will soon become available as an official accessory shortly after release – let’s hope it makes its way to the US as well, although we doubt it will be available at launch.

The case has the ability to fold into a variety of positions, positions which double up as a stand for when using the Transformer Prime to watch movies or similar media activities. Obvious comparisons are going to be made with Apple’s Smart Cover of course, and if you watch the video, you’ll see that ASUS’ version does bare a striking resemblance to Apple’s version.

The case contains two hooks which easily slides into two available slots on the Transformer Prime, and then you’ll see two examples of how folding the case into a set position can provide two available viewing options for the user – pretty neat you’ll agree. We’re not sure how Apple will feel about this case though, as they may feel that it comes too close to their iPad 2 smart cover for their liking.

Check out the video below via Phandroid for yourself and let us know your thoughts on it. Will you pick this up for the Transformer Prime, and do you think ASUS will run into possible lawsuit problems with Apple?
