Aston Martin recalls 5 models in 2013

When you think of Aston Martin, you think of great performance, superior handling and impeccable build quality, and for the most part these qualities are upheld. However, once in a while something goes wrong, which inevitably leads to trouble. Which is why we are not that shocked to learn the news that Aston Martin has had to issue a recall.

The Aston Martin recalls involves 5 models, which is almost their entire 2012-2013 line, the DB9, Rapide, V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage and the Virage. In all, 689 vehicles are affected by this Aston Martin recall, which is due to an issue with the throttle pedal arm.

According to the NHTSA, this problem could cause the vehicle to brake without warning. The problem had been found out by Aston Martin while at a press event back in March, and following a series of tests, learned that there was a problem with the manufacturing process.

Aston Martin will be contacting those affected in due course, where they will have the throttle pedal assembly replaced free of charge. However, the car manufacturer has yet to announce when these recalls will begin, but we don’t expect it will be very long.

In other Aston Martin news, the company has been accused of trying to rehash old models, rather than come up with an all-new design, which was evident when Aston Martin V12 Vantage S was announced a couple of weeks ago. However, there’s no denying that this is a very desirable model, even if it is based on an old platform.
