Assassin’s Creed Unity 1.2.0 update for PC MIA

Earlier on this week, we spoke about the need for future updates for Assassin’s Creed Unity, after Ubisoft pushed out some patches for PS4 and PC platforms. However, it’s become aware that many of you have not received the Assassin’s Creed Unity 1.2.0 PC update download yet from Ubisoft, despite the patch notes having already been published.

To recap, we told you about the PC update notes here, with Ubisoft saying that they had issued numerous crash fixes for Assassin’s Creed Unity, as well as targeting graphics problems as well.

We thought that the patch had already launched, but we’ve since been told by many of you that the update has still not launched on Uplay. You can see a summary of this problem from one user who is already asking Ubisoft for a status update via the official forums.

We’ve been getting our own comments in from PC players too, who say that the Assassin’s Creed Unity 1.2.0 update on Steam is not live yet either.

Our only explanation for this is that Ubisoft has probably taken into account the problems that users have been facing with the game and are holding back the 1.2.0 update in order to make more changes.

Gamers were already saying that the initial Assassin’s Creed Unity 1.2.0 patch notes were too short, so perhaps Ubisoft are adding to that as we speak.

It’s also worth noting that the Community Manager has left this note on the forums, officially acknowledging that there are problems with using AMD graphics cards with Assassin’s Creed Unity, which they are now investigating.

Give us your thoughts on this – are you still waiting for the ACU 1.2.0 PC update file to go live in your area?

They made the game for high end PCs with Nvidia cards in them. That is why AMD PCs and the consoles (with AMD hardware) run so poorly. Whatever “incentive” they recieved from Nvidia was nowhere near sufficient to cover the loss of goodwill from the other 90-95% of gamers – hence Ubi’s share price plunged. Serves them right. The senior management that made this decison need to go. The fact that the share price has tanked so badly makes me think that Far Cry 4 has been developed in the same manner because a one-off poorly made game would not… Read more »
