If you are a fan of Bohemia Interactive Studios’ popular tactical shooter series ArmA, then I think we have news that you definitely won’t want to miss out on. The developer has just announced during the E3 2011 event that they are planning to release a new multiplayer game called ArmA 2: Free.
As John Callaham from neowin.net reports, ArmA 2: Free is a standalone game that is due to be released for the PC later this month. The great thing about the upcoming game is the fact that it will be completely free, with no premium services or micro-transactions in sight.
The ArmA 2: Free title will provide gamers with access to the game’s full multiplayer content including support for up to fifty online players or plenty of AI opponents and its massive maps, as well as access to more than 300 different items, vehicles and weapons found within the game.
Players will also have access to free dedicated servers for both the Linux and Windows operating systems and the mission editor, which will enable gamers to create their own missions. What players don’t get however is a single player campaign, access to the game’s HD graphics options, or user-created ArmA 2 mods.
Are you looking forward to the ArmA 2: Free game being released?
