We have some disappointing news for those of you with a Wii U copy of Batman Arkham Origins. If you wondering what had happened to the missing DLC for the game, doubts have been confirmed. Warner Bros has just confirmed that all planned DLC for the game has been cancelled.
The main reason for this decision will also shock you and perhaps make you sad at the same time. There has been no demand for it according to Warner Bros and it can’t be good news for Nintendo in their push to make the console as appealing as possible when compared against the PS4 and Xbox One.
We can also tell you that those of you who have bought a season pass for the game, will be given a full refund by Nintendo. This will come via eShop credit rather than cashback, which means at least $20 + tax on the way to all those that are affected.
We have seen warning signs about the lack of third-party support for the Wii U and this is not going to be good reading for anyone, especially with Nintendo suffering from recent financial worries resulting in president Satoru Iwata taking a 50% pay cut.
Here’s the statement from Nintendo America:
“We are contacting you today because you purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass for Wii U. We hope you’ve been enjoying the content that has been delivered thus far. Based on demand for Downloadable Content on the system, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming new story campaign for Wii U. As a result, we will be crediting the entire $19.99+tax cost of the Season Pass back to your Nintendo eShop account. You will still be able to enjoy the content already released thus far.”
Here’s what you have been saying about it:
Jesus. Warner Bros is cancelling Arkham Origins DLC for the Wii U. These companies treating Ninty like this…ice cold, man.

Obviously there are going to be mixed feelings about this. Warner Bros obviously doesn’t want to lose money over putting the DLC on Wii U if nobody is going to play it.
There’s going to be heartbreak and anger for those who specifically bought the game on Wii U with the assumption that DLC was coming as with the other platforms of the game.
It has not been a good week for Nintendo, we won’t even mention the Pokebank UK and US release delay right now. Give us your reaction to this, if you can?
