Arjen Robben Golden Ball for FIFA 2014 World Cup

Are you enjoying the 2014 FIFA World Cup so far? We have had some very exciting moments already as we approach the end of the first week, largely thanks to arguably the star player so far, Arjen Robben of the Netherlands.

Robben has been in blistering form for the Dutch team so far in the tournament, scoring three excellent goals in just two games. We have a feeling that he is already a contender for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball, which awards the best player at the tournament.

Meanwhile over on FIFA 14, it appears that EA are putting good odds on the player as well. The developer has just released their official Team of the Matchday squad, as part of their ongoing support for the World Cup in Brazil, within FIFA 14 World Cup Ultimate Team.

This team includes the likes of Neymar, Benzema and Andrea Pirlo. However, it is Arjen Robben who EA has given the highest rating to – a stunning 91 card which you’ll now be able to find inside special World Cup themed FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Gold packs.

Although there is still a long way to go until the tournament ends, we wouldn’t be surprised if odds have already been slashed on Robben emerging as the official World Cup Golden Ball winner.

Let us know if you have been playing FIFA 14 World Cup mode, whilst watching the football on TV. Do you agree that Robben has been the best player so far, or would you give it to somebody else, like Robin Van Persie?
