Argos 3 for 2 Toys sale causes website demand and price confusion

The Argos 3 for 2 toys sale went live a few hours ago to the eagerness of shoppers, although those waiting for the event had already started their shopping a day earlier. With Christmas shopping starting earlier than normal this year, in fact many shoppers finished their Christmas shopping in August, the Argos 3 for 2 toys sale is a perfect time to save on presents for young children.

News about this sale event broke on a number of blogs and Facebook social channels earlier this week, so as expected, parents started reserving toys yesterday to collect today in-store! The amount of people doing this reached such a peak at one point yesterday that the Argos website went down, under “High Demand”.

There was also a few unhappy shoppers today, as the prices have changed since yesterday when they placed a reservation. There seems to be some confusion over if they get the reservation price and 3 for 2 today!

We reached out to Argos for comment on the said demand, and also questions over price changes once the 3 for 2 went live, but haven’t received comment at the time of publication. Leave a comment below if you reserved toys yesterday and managed to get for the same price today, especially if the toys fell within the 3 for 2 toys event too.
