Appular Release The First HTML5 Game for iPhone

Appular, a New York based iPhone application marketer and publisher have launched a game called “Hand of Greed – dodge the blade!”, this game has one particular claim to fame as it is the first-ever HTML5-based iPhone game.

HTML 5 has been hailed as “the future of app discovery and promotion,” one reason for this is because you could be playing a game or using an application, and then have the choice to try out something else that the developer has to offer by being simply transferred to another webpage where you can try it out for free, instead of having to download a new trial application.

Hand of Greed features touchscreen controls, animations, and fun gameplay, it costs 99 cents, and can be purchased through iTunes via this link.

Do you think the HTML 5 based games will kick start something new for the iPhone? I guess we will have to wait and see.
