Apple’s WWDC 2013: The date, predictions and iOS 7

If you’ve been anxiously waiting to see just what Apple has in store for us in regards to their new iOS and future device releases, then you will have to wait until Apple’s WWDC 2013 event, which as you may well know is being held on June 10, 2013.

While the WWDC 2013 date is known to us, the times are not just yet, although if we are to go on previous events, then we should expect a start time of 10 am Pacific, 1 pm Eastern and 6 pm GMT.

As you would imagine WWDC 2013 expectations are high, although some of you hoping to see a new iPad or iPhone will be out of luck. We still find it strange when there are rumors of these devices appearing at the June event, when these will clearly be released in the fall at the earliest.

The products Apple is most likely to launch at WWDC are a refreshed MacBook Air and Pro. While it would be nice to see the Air receive a major design upgrade for 2013, this is highly unlikely, and so we expect to see an upgrade to the Haswell processor and a slight possibility of a Retina display. The Pro should also benefit from the Haswell processor, and both models could benefit from faster WiFi speeds as well.

We also expect to see Mac OS X 10.9 unveiled and to feature some new enhancements and to also take some core features from iOS along with several changes to the user interface.

Finally, WWDC 2013 will be mostly about iOS 7 and should feature a major design overhaul. It’s expected that iOS 7 will have a flatter design, and so should be a simplified version. If this is the case then iOS 7 should be even easier to use, and could even be more battery friendly.

We’re not certain how iOS 7 will look, or what those new features will be, so we have supplied several videos to help give you an idea.
