Apple’s New MacBook Pro: Intel Core i5 and Core i7 improvements

The new 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro has seen a number of improvements, not only to its battery and hard drive, but also to its CPU as well. Apple has now given you the choice of a new Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processor, not only do they offer greater performance, but also consume less energy that what you would imagine.

According to Apple these new processors offers an increase in performance by up to 50 percent. These have been based on Intel’s latest 32-nanometer process technology, making them the fastest dual-core processors on the market.

Both the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors come with an added feature — Turbo Boost. If you are using a program that is processor-intensive, then Turbo Boast will kick in and give you the extra speed that you need. If you have a 2.66GHz MacBook Pro, the speed will be increased to 3.33GHz.

As we said, these new processors are only available on the 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros — the 13-inch will still use the Core 2 Duo.
