Apple TV: Could Become a Serious Gaming Platform

An analyst at Webush Morgan Securities has recently took a deep look at the Apple TV, his conclusion suggests that the obvious route for this device to take could see it become a “serious gaming” platform.

He believes that the Apple TV could become a competitor to the Wii, PS3 and the Xbox 360, however it will differ quite dramatically as games will come from third-party developers.

The analyst (Michael Patcher) feels that Apple have never really excelled in internal software development, therefore rather than having their own version of Microsoft Games Studios they will become solely dependent on third-party developers.

If you check out SlashGear’s article they go on to suggest that a WiFi-tethered iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone could be used as a remote.

Do you think this is likely?
