Apple patch is vital

The recent Apple patch issued for a lot of the companies software is one of the most vital updates we have seen in months, and is a major problem for some of the most used devices across a number of product lines.

Apple’s patch message is simple, if you own an iPhone then download the latest iOS 7.0.6 update right away. This should be installed on your iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S, or 5C. If you are an owner of the Apple iPad, then you will find a security patch for your iPad 2 or later, and even the 5th generation iPod touch is listed along with other devices needing an update.

In a nutshell, Apple say the patch will stop someone with a “privileged network position” that might want to modify data over the network through SSL/TLS sessions. We touched on this issue a couple of days ago, but at the time there was no fix for this security flaw.

Apple patch OS X Mavericks – if you thought the list of products didn’t include your desktop computer, then you’ll be wrong and need to update your OS X Mavericks software as well to v10.9.2 and make sure Mountain Lion is fully updated.

The reason we wanted to publish this article about the latest updates was to provide slightly more details, but more importantly it’s extremely vital that Product Reviews readers understand this is one of the “Must Download” updates.

If you are using an Apple mac, access to the patch can be found via the Apple menu and then “Software Update”. Within iOS 7, you only need to visit settings and software update to find iOS 7.0.6. You should note a few people have had problems after installing this update on mobile devices, although this seems to be with selected users.

Are you happy that the Apple patch has arrived so quick, or do you feel differently about how vulnerable your devices have been?
