As you probably already know it seems likely that Apple will unveil their debut tablet device later this month at the press event, however with all the news surrounding the Apple iSlate we may have overlooked that Microsoft may release a competitive device.
Windows-based tablets have been out for years, however these next-generation of devices should be a lot more well rounded to suit todays needs, they should feature multitouch displays which are vibrant and high-resolution, they will also be extremely intuitive and should feature a wide-range of connectivity options.
It is thought that Apple’s iSlate will be unveiled on January 26th at an Apple Event, however a recent article posted on InformationWeek suggests that Microsoft will be unveiling a slate-style computer at the Consumer Electronics Show this year.
If this story turns out to be true Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will show off the device in the coming days, it is thought that Microsoft have teamed-up with Hewlett-Packard to develop the device.
Obviously we have to treat this as a rumor at the moment, however in a few days we should know for sure, for more information check out InformationWeek.
