Apple iPhone 5 rumors week ending October 2nd

Around three weeks ago we looked at the Apple iPhone 5 rumors for that week, and the reason we did this is because some weeks are really busy with leaks from so-called “inside sources”, and with just a couple of days before Apple get official with their plans, it seems we need to recap a few of the stories that broke this week, especially considering it has been the busiest week for iPhone 5/4S news than any week before.

At the start of this week on Monday we heard about the rises in market share Android had been making, and what a cheaper iPhone 4S could do to help Apple in the coming months with its battle with Android, which was followed up the day after with official news that Apple had sent out invites for an event on October 4 called “Let’s Talk iPhone”, and the majority of our readers hope a video stream will be broadcast this Tuesday at the Apple event.

We also heard about a possible feature for iPhone 5 called “Assistant”, which aimed to take voice control to the next level. Signs of a release date for the 5th generation iPhone came when Apple seemed to be blocking holidays for employees, which included the same practice by AT&T and Sprint this week, meaning we could see the new iPhone on Sprint as well with unlimited data, although the exact model is anyone’s guess.

Many of the recent iPhone 5 design rumors were started around cases that had apparently leaked in China, with some people pointing to a possible missing prototype although this seemed to be a weak rumor. More concrete rumors came with hard and soft cases turning up in AT&T’s system, along with leaked photos of cases in store. Other case news came from Brikk, with a release of a new case called “Trim” that should work with iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, and they stated if the design changed they would replace the case, which is a good job considering their price tag of more than $3,000. We also saw some different studies and surveys taken this week, with results pointing to a bigger demand for iPhone 5 than the Nexus Prime.

Now we’re just a couple of days away from the event, expectations are that the next iPhone should include a UI that is “revolutionary”, and the latest hints point to pre-orders going live almost right after the event although some doubts about the name of the next phone are still circling, with evidence of “4S” growing and rumors of a more advanced model dying, which could mean tight lips thanks to Apple security or only one cheaper model that is a global phone.
