Apple iPad Sales Affecting Netbook Market

Earlier this year Apple released the iPad, a recent article posted on InvestorPlace looks at how this has affected the netbook market, and it looks like there has been an obvious impact made.

ChangeWave surveyed 3,108 customers during October to uncover peoples planned buying trends for PCs, Netbooks and Tablets, 6% of people were planning to buy a PC within the next 90 days (which was up 1% compared to figures from August), 8% of people surveyed planned to purchase a laptop, however out of this 8% of potential laptop sales just 14% would buy a netbook.

Experts believe that tablets are the reason for this trend, with the Apple iPad selling well and a lot of interest surrounding Samsung Galaxy Tab and BlackBerry PlayBook netbook have a lot of competition, to be honest I am far more interested in buying a tablet than a netbook.

The survey also asked iPad owners whether they were happy with the Apple tablet, apparently 72% of iPad owners were very satisfied and 23% of iPad owners were somewhat satisfied, these are extremely impressive statistics and will probably get better with the release of iOS 4.2.

What will you by next? A PC, laptop, netbook or tablet?
