Apple iPad: Fourth step in the gaming evolution

We have an interesting article for you to read now, in which a senior figure within Gameloft has labelled the Apple iPad as the ‘Fourth step in the gaming evolution’. Do you agree with him?

As reported from Reuters, Gonzague de Vallois is the senior vice president of publishing, and has stated that Apple’s new device is in fourth position in the gaming evolution chain, which started off with the microcomputer, the games console and the smartphone.

Despite only being recently last week, the iPad already has no fewer than 830 video games that have been developed specifically with the iPad’s hardware and graphics capabilities in mind. Combine that figure with the existing 25,000 iPhone and iPod Touch games that can also be played on the iPad – then we have one serious gaming alternative folks.
