Apple iPad: Breakdown of $13-15 eBook prices

As reported from Apple Insider, Apple will be charging customers around $13-15 for each ebook sold on the iBookstore – due to be the base for purchasing ebook content within the iBook application for iPad.

Apple came in for some criticism in some parts, over their ebook pricing compared to the Amazon Kindle, who currently offer ebooks for $9.99. However, publishers have backed Apple’s raised prices, detailing exactly, the costs involved and highlighting deductions made from the likes of royalties and marketing.
