Apple iPad and no-glasses 3D – HoloToy 1.03

We have reported in the past on the 3D motion tracking app HoloToy before, but a new version has just been released to take advantage of the iPad. HoloToy 1.03 has a new game added with full iPad support.

Released by kode80 LLC, the app displays 3D scenes in a way that our brains would expect based on the angle of the device. This creates a 3D scene that seems to disappear right into the device itself. The developer listens to suggestions by users in what they would like to see next added to the app.

The apps creator —Ben Hopkins — has decided to include a full iPad version in his latest update instead of charging a lot more for a standalone version. Many developers are charging more than double the price for their iPad apps over their iPhone versions, but the creator of this app did not think this was justified with HoloToy 1.03 as it was just an update.

HoloToy 1.03 is on the App Store for $0.99. iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch required with OS 3.0 or later.
