Apple iPad Sales: 300,000 Units Sold in Opening Day

Apple have recently released information regarding opening day sales figures for their iPad, however they are not quite as high as what the company perhaps hoped for.

Apparently on Saturday 3rd of April Apple sold ‘more than’ 300,000 iPads in the U.S., this is pretty impressive, however some experts predicted sales of almost double this number.

Experts have also predicted pretty impressive sales figures for the iPad throughout this year, these range from 2.5 million units all the way up to 7.1 million units.

The original iPhone suffered some pretty disappointing sales figures on its opening day as well, apparently Apple shifted just 270,000 units within 30 hours of the handset’s launch, again experts predicted around double this.
