Apple iPad 2: New Hardware and Component Details

We have some more details on the rumored Apple iPad 2 device for you now, as it has been reported that the next iPad model to be released will be equipped with a 7-inch display screen.

According to this report from Apple Insider , production on the iPad 2 is already under way in China. We informed you about some brief details on the iPad 2 via a Taiwanese newspaper, but now we have some specific details on hardware and other components.

Apple Insider reports that the iPad 2 will feature an in-plane switching LCD screen, which will be used for wide viewing angles. These screens will be provided by LG and Chi Mei, while the digitizer add-ons will be supplied by Sintek and AUO.

In terms of hardware, it looks as if Foxconn are once again on primary duties, but the source also reveals that they will be accompanied by Pegatron or Compal.

When will the new device be available though? Will consumers have to wait as long as next Summer? Or are Apple planning to release it before the end of the year. Let us know your thoughts on this.

All i have to say about the ipad 2 is, I cant wait to see what the Chrome OS tablet coming to verizon will look and feel like.
