Apple iPad 2 Announced: Original iPad Price Slashed

As you should all know by now, the iPad 2 will be made travelling via space capsule from whence it came, and be made available to all that wants one come March 11. But what will happen to its predecessor, the original Apple iPad?

Well it’s good news. If you don’t currently have an iPad original, or just want to add another one to your collection, your wallet will be even more forgiving now as the price has been slashed by $100 on all older models. PC World has the low down on the prices which include everything from the standard Wi-Fi 16GB model (was $499, now $399) to the more luxurious Wi-Fi and 3G 64GB model (was $829, now $729). For those interested, you should check out the Apple Store’s clearance page.

If you are amongst a wide-standard of people in the industry, $100 off original iPad is a big deal, and will make a vast majority of these people opt to get the older iPad. Why? Because they have always wanted one. It will be much more affordable, but be aware that it will not come with all the bells and whistles of the new, faster, slimmer, lighter and better iPad 2. But for those iPad 2 enthusiasts, if that $100 extra is not so much of a big deal to you, you will be pleased to know that the iPad 2 is taking over where the original iPad left off, and will inherit the old price plans of anything between $499 and $829.

Add this to the fact that Apple have finally come around to using another provider instead of exclusively using AT&T by going with Verizon, it will seem as though most consumers will be happy with either purchase.

With the new price plans in order, will you opt for an original iPad, or go with the new, exciting, lightning quick iPad 2?
