Apple iOS ‘Secret’ Event: Linked to iOS 4.2?

We have some interesting news to bring you now, as it has been confirmed that Apple will be holding a ‘secret’ iOS event next week at their One Infinite Loop campus, but only developers are invited.

As reported from BGR, it looks like this will be a closed event, and is merely being staged by Apple to ‘help’ developers to optimize their apps more efficiently before they are placed on the App Store.

However, BGR also states that the event could be used to discuss future applications which will be compatible with Apple’s forthcoming update to iOS 4.2 – which is just around the corner since the beta stages are starting to draw to a conclusion.

Apple hasn’t announced anything on this yet, but it’s definitely happening. What are your early thoughts on this? We’ll update you when we find out more.
