A few days ago we told you that one of the people who were responsible for iTunes was working on an Apple branded TV. There have also been rumors that there was even some prototypes already in existence, and now we have talk of an Apple HDTV coming in 2013 with Siri voice control.

There have been rumors that Apple had been working on a HDTV for number of years, and according to AppleInsider the Siri feature now found on the iPhone 4S is thought to be one of the final pieces in the jigsaw. As far back as 2007 the company was planning to build its own TVs, with Steve Jobs getting engineers to work on a new interface for the units.

Apple have been working to simplify the way users interact with their TV, and to do away with the remote control. Early ideas included a wireless keyboard or an iPhone as the remote. But now the best solution has been found with the Siri voice control.

In the recently released Jobs biography he told author Walter Isaacson that he had “finally cracked“, the way of providing an easy to use TV. He said it would have “the simplest user interface you could imagine”, but it is thought there is still some work left to be done o the TV. Sources are claiming that a new product will be announced by the company late next year, with a release during 2013.

Steve jobs was reportedly very excited about the project , but licensing deals are thought to holding the TVs up as the company feels it needs them to release a competitive product. Do you like the idea of an Apple TV with Siri voice control amongst its features?
