Apple exercises patience for 2013 – 2014 product cycle

Earlier this year there were rumors to suggest that a new iPad was to be released, along with the iPhone 5S in April, unsurprisingly the former did not happen and the latter will not either. No doubt there will still be optimistics who believe we will still see some new Apple devices launched in the spring or summer, but Tim Cook has dismissed this.

From what he said yesterday during his earnings call it looks as though Apple is to exercise patience for their 2013 -2014 product cycle. It’s easy for them to rush things, but Apple understands that it is all about timing, and does not want to release new products too early, as they know this could have an effect on this years profits, and would then have a knock-on effect with next year as well.

Tim Cook said we should not expect any new Apple products in 2013 until the fall, but there is a glimmer of hope for those of you eager for a new iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air or Pro, iMac and so much more, as Cook did say that Apple’s 2014 product cycle will fill the whole of next year — maybe we could even see new lines, such as their own TV and the much rumored iWatch? Don’t expect to see an iPhone with a larger screen either, because Cook said they are not ready just yet.

As you would imagine Cook would not go into detail in regards to the specifies of Apple’s 2013 – 2014 rollout schedule, but at least we know any rumors of a budget iPhone being released in the next couple of months is all it is, a rumor.

With this in mind, it does make you wonder what Apple will talk about during WWDC 2013, because while the event will be held in the summer, they can still inform us what we have to look forward to later in the year. So don’t expect the Apple Store to show the message back soon on the day, as we have seen in the past, unless Tim Cook is trying to throw us off the scent, because it’s not like Apple has not done that in the past?
