Apple Back to School 2011: Start and End dates for US, Europe

We have some good news for those of you who are glued to your screen for details on the upcoming Apple Back to School 2011 promotions, as it looks like we now have a confirmed start time and date for when you’ll be able to take advantage of the offers.

As previously speculated, it looks like Apple’s main deal will be a free $100 gift card which you’ll get when purchasing a Mac for college use. This gift card can either be used to purchase content through the Mac App Store, the iBookStore or by purchasing media content via iTunes.

As confirmed by an official-looking screenshot at MacRumors, this year’s promotion will run starting from Thursday 16th June ie today, or later on depending where you are based. The screenshot also reveals that the promotion will end on September 20th, so you’ll have plenty of time to decide whether or not the $100 gift card incentive warrants a purchase of a brand new Mac or not.

We’re not going to get into the age-old debate of if a Mac is better than a PC running Windows, but in the rarity that Apple offers such freebies, you would be forgiven for siding with Apple on this occasion.

So now that you know the official promotion dates, will you be heading to your nearest Apple dealer as soon as you can, or are you not interested in this year’s offer?
