When looking for a monitor there are various aspects that you need to take into consideration before you make your choice, such as budget, size and what its main job will be. Let’s say that you are looking for a new monitor that will excel in gaming, then AOC pretty much have you covered.
Their latest addition is the AOC G2460PQU monitor, which is specifically for gaming and as you will see in the model number, the size of its display is 24 inches, which is more than enough when playing PC games.
As you may know, there has already been a monitor with this same model number, but AOC has made many changes, which they finally announced yesterday. While we are unable to offer a hands-on review of the monitor just yet, we can review its features, and throughout the press release, AOC emphasizes the G2460PQU performance.
When it comes to gaming, it’s not just about how well the graphics are displayed, as connectivity options are important as well, and the G2460PQU does not disappoint. The options available are Display Port, USB 2.0 ports, DVI-Dual Link, HDMI and VGA.
You will also notice how AOC has made improvements to the stand, as the new model now swivels left and right and can pivot 90 degrees, although cannot understand why anyone would wish to pivot their monitor at such an angle?
What we find so interesting about this monitor are the different display options, as there are seven in total.
- These as follows:
- 17” Pillar Box (5:4)
- 19” Pillar Box (5:4)
- 19” Widescreen (16:10)
- 21.5” Widescreen (16:9)
- 22” Widescreen (16:10)
- 23” Widescreen (16:9)
- 24” Widescreen (16:9)
Having the choice of all of these display options gives the gamer a greater choice, as we know all games look better in certain display settings. Speaking of giving the gamer more choice, we were impressed to notice on the rear of the all-new AOC G2460PQU that you are unable to disconnect it from the stand, and then mount it on a wall.
The AOC 144Hz Gaming Monitor screen is able to display up to 16.7 million colors, and offers a maximum resolution of 1920×1080, making it ideal for movies and gaming.
- Some of the key features are:
- Contrast Ratio- 80,000,000:1 (dynamic)
- 1920 x 1080 resolution @ up to 144Hz
- Brightness- 350 cd/m2 (typ)
- 1ms response time
- 7 different display modes
- Multitude of display options
