Android TV Set Top Box: Bring Froyo to your TV

Internet TVs are becoming big business now has many new sets have the features built-in. but if you have an older set you can still get in on the act by a growing number of set top boxes available. We have news of a new Android TV set top box, which will bring Android Froyo to your TV.

Edwin Kee of Ubergizmo is reporting that that the Android TV box is different from Google TV; it will be able to have Android 2.2 Froyo up on your TV via HDMI or component cable. The small box has an Amloic 1GHz Coretex A9 processor powering it.

There is also 2GB of internal memory with 512 RAM, and you can expand the memory by another 32GB thanks to the SD memory card slot. Another nice feature is the USB port which will allow you to connect up an external USB hard drive.

The neat little box promises to be a feature packed device which can be hooked up to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable. You will be able to get digital and Internet TV, web browser, music and picture player. On top of all that you can also get SMS and IM apps straight to your TV. At the moment there is no word on pricing and availability but the device has already passed through FCC.
