Android Smartphone Sales: Amazing Growth in the UK

Over the last few years Google’s Android mobile operating system has grown massively in popularity with smartphone manufacturers, this has been extremely evident so far in 2010, and recent UK sales figures prove just how popular Android is becoming.

According to a recent article posted on TheRegister Android held a three-percent share in the UK smartphone contracts sales market during the first three months of 2010, however in the second quarter of 2010 their share of the market rocketed to 13.2 percent.

So far this year UK carriers have been inundated with new Android-based smartphones, such as the HTC Desire, HTC Legend, Dell Streak etc, and with more handsets such as the Motorola Droid X, Droid 2 and HTC Incredible still yet to see the UK market the future is looking very promising.
