Android iFruit app not working for GTA V

Those of our readers waiting for Android’s iFruit app to release as a GTA V companion will be disappointed about a delay, although you will be even more upset when you spot Grand Theft Auto: iFruit for Android on Google play. This application is live right now, but it is not working thanks to being nothing more than a scam.

We have been emailed today by a number of Product Reviews readers asking why the Android iFruit app is not working or when it will launch, but the download hasn’t gone live yet so we couldn’t understand what some people meant until we looked at Google play. You can clearly see the low 1.2 rating on Google play for one Android iFruit app along with comments shouting fake.

It is fair to point out that the description for GTA: iFruit on Android explains it is unofficial and a fan-guide, but this didn’t stop hundreds of Android phone users getting confused with what they thought was an official Android iFruit app for GTA 5.

This is one of the biggest differences between iPhone and Android. Apple will never allow an unofficial iFruit app, although Android receives these downloads thanks to the more open submission process. This is the price you pay for a more open system and most users of this platform state, “you only need to look at feedback and the developer to see what is fake”.

Searching for “Android iFruit app” in Google will quickly take you to the Google play page in question, and we must strongly warn our readers about downloading this software. You can see a lot of comments revealing how annoyed some gamers are, “They are using Rockstar’s official app name, and their pictures for an Android iFruit app that still lacks a release date. This shows just how crazy it is for people being allowed to do this on Google play”.

Earlier today we touched on iFruit login problems with the iPhone app and how this could delay an Android release date further. You can also read about GTA V The Manual, which joined the iFruit on Android wait to the confusion of some people that feel Google’s OS has a lot more reach.

Have you been playing GTA V? The moment an official iFruit app launches on Android we will publish the details for our readers. You can keep up with related news updates via our hub page.
