Android flashlight app review

Today, we wanted to review the best Android flashlight app that has been updated in 2014 and offers the highest rating by users. We managed to track down two of the best apps available right now for free. Apps like these have become very popular since smartphones started to come with an LED flash, although we would never advise you to keep them on for long periods at a time.

The first Android flashlight app that we wish to look more closely at is the Torch – Tiny Flashlight app, which is free and very easy to use. Not only will this app make use of the LED flash as a torch, but also the screen as well.

You don’t need to be reminded of the main feature of such apps, but it is those other features that help to make these more individual. There are various screen lights to choose from, along with a widget to help change the layout. There is also a strobe and Morse code feature, although I’ve had this feature before and only used it for fun. Having said that, the Morse code feature does come in handy in a number of situations.

The developer would have you believe that this is the best Android flashlight app available and with almost 2.5 million users giving the app an overall rating of 4.5, they cannot be wrong.

Another popular flashlight app for Android is Brightest LED Torch, and while this has received the same score, only 464,000 users have rated it. This does pretty much all of what the above app can do, but it seems to be missing the Morse code feature and it also lacks the ability to use the screen as a basic torch.

We know there are loads of other Android flashlight apps on the Google Play Store, but these are two of the best. What we do find strange is how Android devices lack a default flashlight feature, something that iOS 7 brought to several of its iOS devices last year.
