Android Device Manager vs. Find My iPhone

Having spent several hundred dollars on a new Android or iOS device you want to know that it is safe. However, we all know there are some people out there who make a living out of honest working people, and so feel the need to steal. It is this very thing that the US Government are concerned about because they feel that the likes of Apple, Samsung etc. are not doing enough in terms of security.

While we await their answer as to what they intend to do (although the police should make more of an effort) there are two security features for your Android and iOS devices, and these are Android Device Manager and Find My iPhone.

These services are not just for helping you out of a situation if your smartphone or tablet has been stolen, but great if you have misplaced your device as well, something that some of us have done from time to time.

Below we have two videos, and while this is not a proper Android Device Manager vs. Find My iPhone confrontation because they are on different platforms, it is good to watch both videos just to see how different these companies go about things.

In the first video that runs for 2 minutes and 19 seconds you learn how to find your lost device with Android Device Manager. The second video shows you how to use Find My iPhone.

For a more comparative review of both these services, then Phones Review has looked into them in greater detail, but which do you believe is more comprehensive and reliable?
