Android apps in car with JVC MirrorLink Receiver

The JVC MirrorLink Receiver is a great idea for those of you who want to link up their smartphone with the head unit’s monitor to assist your journey safe and responsibly. With the MirrorLink Receiver users can synchronize their Android and Symbian phones, duplicating the screen with the opportunity to take advantage of ‘Car Mode’ to access apps optimized for in-car use.

This ensures the driver can continue their journey enjoying a safe and comfortable experience with a whole array of user-friendly Symbian / Android apps that can contain everything from car navigation, hands-free telephone communication to music playback. Highlighting their EISA Award for Best Product 2012-2013 Smart Connectivity, JVC Kenwood documents this KW-NSX1 model and the compatibility with Samsung and Nokia phone models, although they do stress that this could differ by country or origin.

One of the applications mentioned is the ‘Drive Link’, which can be downloaded from Samsung Apps and this involves three groups of individual apps categorized for easy usage. Music, location and phone are the main groups and this allows owners to select their chosen application accordingly, and the connection with Samsung Electronics means those owning GALAXY S III smartphones can also enjoy optimized features with the KW-NSX1.
