Well, it finally started yesterday, the OTA for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As ever though, those supported devices will not be seeing the update all at the same time, as they will be staggered, and so your device might not be updated in days, or even weeks. There is however, a way to force that update through quicker.
Rather than wait for the OTA for your device, you could always download the Android 6.0 Marshmallow ZIP files instead, as this would save all that time waiting, but where do you locate them we hear you ask?
Thankfully, Android Police has done all that hard work for you and has supplied all of the URLs for those update files. Just make certain you back your Android handset or tablet up, although things should go smoothly.
For those of you that have never done manual flashing before, then there is a handy guide to help you familiar with the process. It’s a very easy process, but if you do not feel confidant, then you had best wait for the OTA to get to your device.
The available ZIP files are as follows: Nexus 9 (LTE), Nexus 9 WiFi, Nexus 7 2013 (LTE) and the Galaxy Nexus (LTE). Android Police states that the other links are coming soon.
Have you got the latest update yet, and if so what are your early thoughts?
