We are just hours away from the exciting Android 5.0 Lollipop update release time for Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 devices. Google has said that November 3 is the magic date when they will deliver the update first to these devices and as you can imagine, there’s a lot of anticipation and excitement in the air.
To recap, Google has promised that their primary tablets and smartphones in the Nexus range will be getting an update first. Not only will the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10 devices get an update, but Google has made a lot of consumers happy by also saying that the Nexus 7 2012 tablet and Nexus 4 will also get an upgrade too.
We’ve seen some rumors online that Google are also planning a surprise Lollipop update to all Android owners, but this isn’t going to happen as it’s already a lot of work we imagine providing updates to five devices at once.
So far, there hasn’t been an official announcement of the exact time in which the update will become available OTA. We’ve seen some whispers suggesting that it could happen around 12.30am California Time – but there’s no substance to these claims.
For now, if you are waiting for the update you should just check every so often on your device manually. You can do this by following these steps: Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
With a bit of luck, you will be able to update to Android 5.0 Lollipop and enjoy the goodness of the very latest version of Android. Are you waiting patiently for the update right now? Let us know if you have received an OTA notification from Google in your area.
