Android 4.2.2 update changes includes new battery features

Certain Nexus devices were receiving the latest Android 4.2.2 update yesterday, and at that time we had assumed that it was just to improve the stability of Bluetooth, but there are other changes as well. There are also a number of minor tweaks, with some of them specific to the battery for the Nexus 4.

When the update went live it was only available for Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 and 10 users, with the Nexus 4 said to follow shortly. However, we’re now hearing that one of the features is Nexus 4 specific, which means that Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 should be available for this LG handset pretty soon, if not now.

Once you have the new JB update running on your Nexus 4 you will then hear a tone whenever you charge your Nexus 4 via the wireless charging dock, but only if it has less than 95 percent charge. Not only that, also when you use the new charger, which was released a couple of days ago, there are other new chimes as well. We will have to put this down to another useless feature, as we’re sure that Nexus 4 users could think of many other things that could have been included in the latest Android update.

A full list of these new features can be found on two Android Police articles, here and here. Some of these new features and tweaks include new download notifications, quick setting toggles, new sounds, and much more.

This might not be the most feature rich update, but it’s an update nonetheless. What else would you like to have seen updated in Android 4.2.2?
