Amazon shipping has come under a great deal of scrutiny by its customers, as they have an issue with paying for it for smaller items. This has led to more people using eBay, and so Amazon has finally announced that it is to make a much-needed change to its service, and that is by offering free shipping.
It is worth noting that Amazon shipping is not free across the board, just for small, lightweight items, although these are probably the items shipped the most by the online retailer.
By making this change to the Amazon shipping cost, the company hopes to win back those customers that had made the move to using eBay for similar products instead. However, there is a catch, and that is how slow delivery will be, as it will take from four to eight business days for items to be shipped.
As for size and weight, they have to weigh less than 8 ounces and measure 9 x 6 x 2, and cost no more than $10. This news will no doubt appeal to shoppers that had an issue with shipping costing more than the item they were buying, which is pretty much most of us.
We have to wonder if this will cause a drop in the number of people signing up to Amazon Prime, which is a service used to make certain your items were shipped for free?
